Repeat and 12-Month Prescriptions
A consultation is the clinic’s preferred prescription route because it allows the prescriber to review effectiveness, side effects, interactions and monitoring. Approval without an appointment remains at the GP or nurse practitioner’s discretion.
Allow 48 hours
- Weekends and public holidays are excluded.
- Watch for an email or text confirmation.
- Phone if no response arrives after 48 hours.
- Do not wait until the medicine has run out.
A consultation may be required when
- You were not seen for the previous prescription.
- The medicine or dose changed.
- Monitoring or blood tests are overdue.
- The requested medicine requires examination or review.
Who may receive a longer prescription?
The clinic may consider a six- or 12-month prescription for a stable, well-controlled long-term condition when the patient has used the same medicine and dose for some time and does not need frequent monitoring.
- The GP or nurse practitioner makes the final clinical decision.
- Regular reviews remain important.
- Symptoms or health changes should still be reported promptly.
- The pharmacy generally supplies three months at each collection.
- You cannot normally collect the entire 12-month supply at once.
When to Check Blood Tests, Smears and Histology
The clinic delays release because some laboratory results arrive later than others. Checking too early can show an incomplete set and create false reassurance.
Blood tests
Wait at least seven working days before checking MyIndici.
Smears and histology
Some results take more than two weeks. Check again after two to three weeks.
Email release
Patients without MyIndici need to request and sign a consent form before email release.
“How will I receive the result, when should I check MyIndici, and what should I do if the result has not appeared or my symptoms worsen?”

- Vaccine-only and malaria-only appointments are also described.
